The domain name

In the language Gascon patois, “cardinat” means goldfinch. This little sparrow, which sports a red mask, is the emblem of the domain and is found on the labels of all our bottles of Armagnac.

Our land

The Domaine du Cardinat is situated on a sandy and rocky soil where the vines thrive. The domain benefits from an abundance of sunshine, combined with generous rainfall, thanks to the natural barrier provided by the Pyrenees Mountains which serve to hold back the clouds which come down from the Golfe de Gascogne. The domain is located in the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, which is the region most renowned for high quality eaux de vie.
